German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited UBC on April 25, 2023. Anoush Poursartip, Co-Director of Composites Knowledge Network (CKN), welcomed His Excellency and the German Delegation in his role as UBC lead of the DLR@UBC partnership. Anoush shared the success of the partnership, which has been in action for eight years and continues to grow stronger. Currently, over 30 researchers are actively engaged in eight projects.
During the visit, Stephen Atkinson, a MASc Graduate Student, presented the DLR-NRC-UBC collaborative project on Thermoplastic Composites Continuous Resistance Welding, sharing both technical details and memories of his recent two-month research exchange trip in Augsburg.
