Anoush Poursartip awarded CACSMA’s Canada Composites Fellow

Composites Knowledge Network (CKN) is pleased to announce that Anoush Poursartip, Co-Director of the Composites Knowledge Network and Professor at the University of British Columbia, has been awarded the Canada Composites Fellow by the Canadian Association for Composites Structures and Materials (CACSMA) for his outstanding contributions to the field of composite structures and materials.

With over thirty years of experience in digital manufacturing, Poursartip has been instrumental in developing computer simulations to reduce risk, cost, and time for product development in advanced composite structures, particularly in the aerospace sector. He has also founded Convergent Manufacturing Technologies, Inc. (1998), the Composites Research Network (2012) and Composites Knowledge Network (2019).

Poursartip’s contributions to the field of composite structures and materials have been recognised with several awards, including the Medal of Excellence in Composites from the University of Delaware and the ASTM Wayne Stinchcomb Award. He is also a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, ICCM, and SAMPE.

The announcement took place at the CACSMA Annual General Meeting on March 22, 2023. In addition to Poursartip, fellowships were presented to Brahim Benmokrane, PhD, University of Sherbrooke and Suong Van Hoa, PhD, Concordia University.

Congratulations Anoush on this well-deserved honour.
