Virtual Coffee Break Series on Diversity and Inclusion, featuring Dr. Sujata Ym Sinhaa
Please join us for our next free EDI coffee break on Thursday, October 29th, 2026 at 12:00 PM (ET), featuring Dr. Sujata Ym Sinhaa, neuroengineer and neurocoach.
Dr. Sinhaa will deliver a talk entitled:
“Is Your Brain in Debt? Why Resting Smarter Is the Best Investment You Can Make.”
Students and high-performing professionals are constantly managing deadlines, digital interruptions, task switching, and pressure to perform. This session will explore the concept of cognitive debt — how sustained mental demands and insufficient recovery can gradually affect attention, learning, and performance.
Drawing on neuroscience and neuro-engineering, Dr. Sinhaa will discuss how stress, sleep, interruptions, and recovery influence cognitive performance, and share practical strategies to help recognize overload, structure focused work, manage interruptions, and build smarter recovery habits.
Date and Time: Thursday, October 29, 2026, 9:00 AM PT | 12:00 PM ET
This event is organized by RISE^U and is part of the EDI Coffee Break Series co-organized by SAMPE Canada Chapter, Composites Knowledge Network (CKN), CACSMA, and CREPEC.
