Pearl was a valued friend and colleague to many in the composites community, in addition to her major impact on the Canadian engineering ecosystem as Dean of Engineering at Waterloo. Pearl did her PhD in the UBC Composites Group, the forerunner to the CRN. When Pearl became Dean, she showed her generosity and human side by agreeing to be interviewed and quoted by the UBC Applied Science newspaper https://apsc.ubc.ca/news/2012/02/ubc-alumna-pearl-sullivan-named-dean-of-engineering-at-waterloo. She will be sorely missed.
