Comprendre les causes sous-jacentes de divers d\u00e9fauts n\u00e9cessite une caract\u00e9risation pr\u00e9cise et, id\u00e9alement, une quantification. La caract\u00e9risation des d\u00e9fauts au niveau des fibres peut \u00eatre tr\u00e8s difficile, car ils ne peuvent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement pas \u00eatre r\u00e9solus par imagerie conventionnelle aux rayons X ou aux ultrasons. Bien que les m\u00e9thodes de sectionnement 2D puissent \u00eatre utilis\u00e9es pour \u00e9tudier ces d\u00e9fauts, cette approche est destructive et ne permet pas toujours de capturer les caract\u00e9ristiques de plus grande dimension.   <\/p>\n<p>La microstructure des fibres peut cependant \u00eatre imag\u00e9e en 3D \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide de techniques d&rsquo;imagerie \u00e0 rayons X avanc\u00e9es telles que la tomodensitom\u00e9trie (CT) bas\u00e9e sur le synchrotron. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 cette technique, nous pouvons imager de mani\u00e8re non destructive des caract\u00e9ristiques subtiles au niveau des fibres telles que les plis, le d\u00e9salignement et les interactions fibre-particules en 3D.
